… to cars and Mazda
A glutton for punishment, Sam decided to go back to university to do an MBA at Lancaster University. As part of the MBA, she completed a project for Mazda Motors (Europe) Ltd. The project’s recommendations were implemented and the success meant a job offer for Sam in Sales Operations managing some of Mazda’s European subsidiaries.
A move to marketing meant working in brand and responsibility of launching Mazda’s icon, the Mazda MX-5, a few years managing the European launch process, and European product training and finally working with the dealers around Cologne and Düsseldorf. All in all the whole Mazda experience, as with export brought together all aspects of the business: production, marketing, sales, finance, customer services, technical, sales planning and PR. It sounds like hard work but it was fun.
