About Bridger Consultancy

Bridge the gap to your success

Running and growing a business is different from working in a business. We know: we made the leap. That’s why Bridger Consultancy was set up: to provide good, cost-effective support and expertise for small businesses.

We have done both so we know that business is a lot easier and businesses grow more quickly and easily when they have help.  The best businesses don’t go it alone.

So we now use our expertise and experiences to help you fulfil your ambitions and overcome your frustrations. We want to save you problems which can be easily avoided.

We appreciated that some blurb on a website doesn’t really bring to life the difference we bring to our clients so we offer a free no-obligation 30-minute session so you can experience it first hand and see if it works for you.

Sam Bridger BA (Hons), MBA, MIEx (Grad), FCMI

Our credentials: From college to Export Expert …

The person behind Bridger Consultancy is Sam Bridger.  Becoming an expert in export wasn’t something planned. After graduating with a degree in German and Russian, she was hired by a local company to liaise with their German customer base. This was start of a love affair: the world of international trade or export involves everything from production scheduling to finance to sales.  Not only was it very varied it also showed Sam the value export adds to business.

Sam completed the Institute of Export professional courses, and now as a qualified manager and having gained more experience working in more experienced export companies, came the first major export challenge, setting up the first ever export department to sell a range of products included high-street brands such as Teletubbies™, Wallace & Gromit™ and Bob the Builder™.

… to cars and Mazda

A glutton for punishment, Sam decided to go back to university to do an MBA at Lancaster University.  As part of the MBA, she completed a project for Mazda Motors (Europe) Ltd. The project’s recommendations were implemented and the success meant a job offer for Sam in Sales Operations managing some of  Mazda’s European subsidiaries.

A move to marketing meant working in brand and responsibility of launching Mazda’s icon, the Mazda MX-5, a few years managing the European launch process, and European product training and finally working with the dealers around Cologne and Düsseldorf. All in all the whole Mazda experience, as with export brought together all aspects of the business:  production, marketing, sales, finance, customer services, technical, sales planning and PR.  It sounds like hard work but it was fun.

Back to the UK

Returning to the UK, Sam wanted to break out of that corporate world and do something very different and retrained to qualify as a coach with a Foundation in Coaching Practice from I-coach academy.

After qualifying, Sam saw what an impact good coaching can make and saw how combining that with her business expertise, can help businesses do what they do best.
